Lucknow Central Trailer Review and Breakdown

Lucknow Central is clearly a movie about a prison break. But the makers have obviously made sure that it’s not too straight forward. To make things interesting, there is a musical band involved.

Farhan Akhtar emits this vibe of a rockstar, a person who belongs to the stage and performs in front of thousands. Rock On!, his debut film, saw him in essaying the role of the lead vocalist of a musical band. Then, the sequel. And now Lucknow Central. Farhan is playing an aspiring singer again, but fate has different plans for him.

His character, Kishen Mohan Girhotra, hails from Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh and wants to be a huge singing sensation. But somehow he gets convicted for a murder, is sentenced to death and ends up in prison. There, his paths cross with some other inmates and an NGO worker, i.e. the folks who comprise the primary cast of the movie. Together, the inmates constitute a musical band to participate in a band competition which is to be held in the dreaded jail of ‘Lucknow Central’.

But under the disguise of prepping for their musical performance, the members of the band hatch a plan to escape the prison. The tagline of the movie “Plan kuch aur hai (the plan is something else)” explains it all.

Deepak Dobriyal, the NSD graduate who is known for his amazing performances in Omkara, Delhi 6, Tanu Weds Manu and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo is also a part of the 5-member band.
